Chicago, IL – Gather Voices, a video software solutions company, revealed today the closing of its seed investment round, led by New Stack Ventures and including participation from Chicago Early Growth Ventures. These investors join Jason Calacanis, Howard Tullman, Lofty Ventures and others in backing Gather Voices. It also announced plans to expand integrations and launch new functionality to continue to make video simple for businesses, trade associations and nonprofit organizations.
Organizations are attempting to scale their video use with old tools and time consuming and costly processes. Gather Voices makes video simple and empowers those that run programs and business units to be proficient at video, without additional budget or headcount. Gather Voices has developed technology that enables organizations to guide users to make video from anywhere in the world on any device, unlocking video for organizations.
In a world where most organizations only create content from the top, Gather Voices enables a diversity of voices and perspectives to be heard, using the powerful camera people already have in their pockets.
“There has never been a time like now, one where the entire globe has to shelter in place in order to remain safe. There are so many important issues and business needs that cannot afford to take a back seat and be put on pause,” says Gather Voices Founder and CEO, Michael Hoffman. “The financing from New Stack and our other partners will make it possible to expand our work in this moment of great change in the way people communicate.”
Founded by Michael Hoffman, who teaches marketing at Chicago University and is a long-time consultant to business leaders on constituent engagement strategies, and Joel Resnik, a veteran company builder from RedBox, Blockbuster and Universal Orlando Resorts, Gather Voices has filled a critical gap during this time of COVID-19 and expects to be a permanent foundational part of business success from now on.
Gather Voices also announced today the launch of Community Voices, a module for Higher Logic communities. Higher Logic, the industry-leading engagement platform has over 3,000 customers across 21 countries worldwide and supports over 2.7 billion community interactions annually. With Gather Voices, video will be seamlessly integrated into their communities for the first time.
“Video seems to be everywhere today, but it is not yet deeply integrated into business workflows” said Nick Moran, General Partner at New Stack Ventures. “Gather Voices has the opportunity to become the core software that powers video across a business. Their technology, team, timing and traction are what got our attention at New Stack and we’re excited to be their partner and assist them during this phase of rapid growth.”
